Teach Home Economics at Djurgårdsskolan
Do you enjoy teaching a subject that combines theory, practice, and life skills? Then this might be the position for you. We are looking for a teacher in home economics who wants to inspire and engage students in their learning.
Within walking distance from Eskilstuna city center lies Djurgårdsskolan, with its 800 students from preschool to grade nine. The school is close to Djurgården's park area and Odlarskogen, with beautiful walking paths and exercise trails. There are also the Old Town Music Classes that students from all over Eskilstuna municipality can apply to. Many students choose to apply to us, which we are happy about!
With us, you will work with competent and dedicated colleagues, and we offer you good conditions for personal development. We also have collaborations outside the school, for example with Mälardalen University, to include both current research and proven experience in our school development.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In your first year, you will teach home economics for grades 7-9. After that, you will teach home economics and another subject, based on your qualifications and the school's needs. You will plan, implement, and follow up on teaching based on the curriculum. You will have the support of an experienced colleague in the subject and teach in a well-equipped classroom with eight kitchens. The practical components take place in half classes, which provides good opportunities for guidance and quality in teaching. You will be part of the 7-9 work team and act as a mentor together with a colleague in a high school class. You will collaborate closely with your subject colleagues, where you exchange knowledge and experience to promote students' learning.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a teaching degree and teaching certification with qualifications to teach home economics and another subject for grades 7-9. If you have ongoing education that will conclude shortly, that is also acceptable. It is a plus if you have experience teaching in schools and have worked based on the current curriculum.
To thrive in this role, you need to be a clear and flexible leader with an inclusive leadership style. You enjoy collaborating with others and create security by listening to students' various needs. You are good at building relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. We hope you want to develop in your role and contribute to the school's continued development.
Warm welcome with your application!
