Job Advertisement: Nurse for Oncology Care Unit

Our department is a general oncology care unit with 15 beds. We have a diverse patient group that includes a variety of cancer diagnoses. Cancer care is constantly evolving, and we provide patients with increasingly advanced medical treatments, both curative and palliative, which require patients to be hospitalized during radiation and chemotherapy. Our patients are also hospitalized for investigations or for pain and other symptom relief. We have patients who need palliative care, which can be complex but is one of the department's strengths.

We are looking for someone who wants to join us in developing and advancing cancer care with the patient's best interests in focus.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We work in care teams and have close collaboration with all professions in the department. We value our strong team spirit highly. We see each other in the department and benefit from each other's individual competencies.

As a nurse with us, you will work with:

• holistic nursing
• palliative care
• chemotherapy, you will have the opportunity to take a course to become certified in chemotherapy management
• managing central lines
• various medical technical procedures such as drainage, catheters, tracheostomy, PEG, feeding tubes, and medication pumps.

QUALIFICATIONS

In your work, you will meet patients with various cancer diagnoses that affect the body and mind to varying degrees. This requires you to be empathetic and responsive and to have the ability to meet people in crisis. We look at the whole patient and their needs and want all our patients and relatives to feel safe with us throughout the care process. We are a team and depend on each other's different roles and functions to provide the best possible care to our patients and their loved ones. Therefore, you need to be good at communicating, have strong collaboration skills, and be able to contribute to positive and effective teamwork. You work for the best of the organization, contribute to development, and see opportunities in change.

In the role of nurse, you must:

• be a licensed nurse.

We are looking for both newly graduated nurses and those with a few years of experience. Experience in emergency care, oncology care, palliative care, or chemotherapy management is an advantage.
