Assistant Nurse to the Intensive Care Unit at Alingsås Hospital

The hospitals in the west are an administration within the Västra Götaland region and consist of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Local Hospital, Högsbo Local Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. About the operation

The Intensive Care Unit at Alingsås Hospital is a specialized unit for our most seriously ill patients who, to varying degrees, require continuous monitoring.

Here, advanced treatment and care are provided at a high level. The unit is equipped with advanced medical technology for treating various life-threatening conditions. Within the ICU, we also care for intermediate care patients who are in an unstable phase and need to be cared for at a higher level than the general ward but are not critically ill and in need of intensive care. The ICU in Alingsås has about 55 employees who together are responsible for 6 care places.

What do we offer you?

You will be responsible for the patient's general care and work in a team together with an intensive care nurse and anesthesiologist in a person-centered approach. We provide care around the clock, which means you will work days, evenings, weekends, and, if necessary, nights. We use ISP scheduling and plan 12 weeks at a time. Your colleagues are competent and experienced, which means you have strong support in your daily work, and you will have all opportunities to develop in your role in patient-centered work.

We have a positive work environment characterized by engagement and good team spirit, and the working method is inclusive. As a nursing assistant with us, you participate in and are responsible for the care and monitoring of patients in intensive and/or intermediate care environments. You perform the usual tasks for nursing assistants within both care levels.

As a newly hired nursing assistant, you will receive a thorough introduction to feel secure in your workplace. If you have previously worked in intensive care, it is an advantage. Qualifications

You who are applying should be a trained nursing assistant with experience in emergency care. Previous experience in intensive care is an advantage.

Working hours

Protected professional title for nursing assistants From July 1, 2023, the title of nursing assistant is a protected professional title. This means that you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant within healthcare and social care.
