This assignment consists of a collaboration between the Child and Student Health Services and the Social Services. The positions are distributed across each unit based on the right to perform assignments according to respective laws and regulations. This position is based in IFO with the mandate this entails.

Job Responsibilities

School social teams are a way for schools and social services to work together to strengthen the conditions for students to achieve educational goals, create a calm and safe school environment, increase student attendance, and provide support to break an unfavorable development.

A functioning school experience, where students learn, develop, and feel good, is an important protective factor. This means that a complete primary education increases the chances of further studies, participation in professional and community life, good health, and well-being throughout life. Extensive absenteeism can have serious consequences for children and young people, both in the short and long term. Schools should counteract this by systematically promoting attendance through, among other things, a good learning environment, early interventions, collaboration, and individual adaptation.

We are now looking for a social worker for the school social team. The team has a cross-professional approach where social services can assist with preventive and trust-building work in the school environment. School social teams can, for example, offer support measures to guardians and facilitate communication and collaboration between guardians and other actors around the individual student, such as health care and leisure sectors.

The position entails a project employment for one year with the possibility of extension/permanent employment, provided that state funding is granted or other decisions are made.

Qualifications

You should have a degree in social work or another relevant degree at least at the basic level in higher education (180 credits). You are expected to be able to prepare reports and other documentation required for the implementation of the assignment.

We are looking for someone who takes initiative and has the ability to drive the work forward towards set goals, while valuing collaboration with students, parents, and colleagues, and can build trusting relationships. You have pedagogical and psychological tools that enable you to meet students in various situations and needs, and you are solution-focused with the ability to think creatively and find individual solutions.
