At Norlandia Äldreomsorg, we are looking for you who are a nursing assistant/caregiver and want to work full-time/part-time during all or part of the summer at Mälarhem elderly home in Västerås. As a nursing assistant/caregiver, you are a valuable key player who contributes to ensuring that our residents have a safe and meaningful existence in their old age. We always start from the resident's will and own ability and focus on the healthy aspects. As a nursing assistant/caregiver, you are responsible for providing dignified and good care based on the individual needs of the elderly. Typical tasks may include assisting with daily care, medication administration, documentation, support during activities, serving meals, and light cleaning in the residents' apartments. You will be involved in everything from educational care moments to enjoyable activities with the residents. It is simply a very exciting job!

Mälarhem is a Finnish, modern, and personal elderly home. It is a small and modern elderly home with only 26 places, which creates a close and familial atmosphere both for the residents and for you as a colleague. The residence is located in a quiet and beautiful area with proximity to shops and nice walking paths. Our large, lovely terraces are frequently used for coffee breaks, barbecues, and community gatherings. In the garden, we grow vegetables and flowers – and of course, we have a sauna.

With us, you will have the opportunity to embrace the Finnish culture and language. We speak Finnish daily at work and collaborate with various associations to preserve the Finnish heritage. We celebrate Independence Day and highlight Finnish author days such as Runeberg's Day and Kalevala Day.

In our own restaurant on the ground floor, our chef prepares food with a Finnish focus. During weekends and holidays, we set the table extra nicely, and every week we offer a three-course menu to our residents. Finnish tango, waltz, and karaoke are popular features in our activity calendar.

As a summer substitute with us, you will have access to Cappy – a smart app that gives you an overview of your working hours and salary. In the app, you can see worked hours, earned salary, preliminary salary payment, information about available shifts, and how much you can earn from an extra shift. With Cappy, there is also the option to withdraw part of the earned salary for extra shifts/hourly shifts directly after the shift ends.

We are looking for you with a big heart and a desire to make a difference. We prefer that you enjoy working with people and have a strong sense of service. Additionally, you should be able to collaborate easily with others and have the ability to be flexible and responsive when needed.

• It is advantageous if you have nursing assistant training (or equivalent training) of at least 1350 points.

• Previous experience in elderly care is highly meritorious.

• Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, is required.

• Finnish language skills are strongly meritorious for the position.

• We prefer that you have good computer skills and experience with documentation.

Scope: Full-time, part-time, or hourly employment

Start date: June, July, and August 2026

We apply individual salary setting and have a collective agreement. Interviews are conducted continuously, and the position may be filled before the application deadline. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Before a possible employment, you must be able to present an extract from the criminal record. You also need to be able to prove that you have the right to work in Sweden by showing that you have citizenship within the EU/EES or a valid work permit.
