Within the agricultural support department, we are responsible for the correct handling of EU subsidies within agriculture and rural areas. We disburse approximately 10 billion SEK annually and have the overall responsibility for making farmers' contact with the Swedish Board of Agriculture as simple as possible. Since we handle large financial values, the demands for quality and security are high.
JOB DESCRIPTION
As a maintainer, you will map agricultural land, how large different fields are, what type of land it is, and what natural and cultural values exist on pastures and meadows. Agricultural land is divided into different blocks, and the mapping ensures that the farmer receives the correct support for all blocks. In this way, you and we contribute to creating sustainable agriculture and establishing the best conditions for producing most of the food we need in Sweden.
The maintenance has two seasons, screen and field season. We are now looking for staff for our field season, which runs from April to October. During the field season, you will inspect blocks on-site with farmers. The result of our work is an updated database of all agricultural land in Sweden.
Here you can read more about the inspections we conduct in maintenance:

In maintenance, we work all over Sweden and have employees in several locations across the country. Therefore, placement in multiple locations is possible. Depending on your placement, there may be periods requiring more or less travel where you are away from home for several days in a row. Expect at least three weeks in another location during the field season in a part of the country different from where you normally work. In return, you have great freedom to plan your workweek.
When we finalize the planning for the summer field season, it may dictate the needs for where in the country we need to fill positions. For this year's field season, we now see that we have a need for staff primarily in Jämtland, Uppsala, Örebro, Östergötland, and Kalmar counties, which is why we welcome applicants who can work in these areas. The Swedish Board of Agriculture does not cover housing costs, so you need to be residing in the area or have the ability to arrange accommodation on your own.
QUALIFICATIONS
As a maintainer, you need to be solution-oriented and good at planning your time. You are structured, detail-oriented, and analytical so that you can weigh different types of information against each other and then make your decision. You are goal-oriented and results-driven and are comfortable making decisions based on the available information. You enjoy driving and working alone, while also liking to meet farmers and explain how we work and why. Collaborating when needed is a given.
You have knowledge of and can broadly assess biodiversity and various natural values on pastures and meadows. You have a relevant university degree such as a biologist, agronomist, landscape architect, natural scientist, or relevant work experience in the field. Experience with commitment plans and assessment of land classes for pastures and meadows, as well as work with maintenance and field controls of agricultural land, is an advantage. We consider it highly advantageous if you have worked with maintenance in the last 3 years.
Due to the nature of the work, it is important that you are in good physical shape and have normal color vision. A driver's license is required. You need to be able to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
We will work with ongoing selection, and you are warmly welcome to submit your application as soon as possible!

For us, it is important that all competencies in the labor market are utilized. We welcome all applicants and strive for diversity.
