Within the agricultural support department, we are responsible for the correct management of EU subsidies within agriculture and rural areas. We pay out approximately 10 billion SEK annually and have the overall responsibility to make farmers' contact with Jordbruksverket as simple as possible. Since we handle large financial values, the demands for quality and security are high.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a maintainer, you will map agricultural land, determining the size of different plots, the type of land, and the nature and cultural values present on pastures and meadows. Agricultural land is divided into different blocks, and the mapping ensures that farmers receive the correct support for all blocks. In this way, you and we contribute to creating sustainable agriculture and the best conditions for producing most of the food we need in Sweden.

The maintenance process has two seasons: screen and field season. During the field season, you will inspect the blocks on-site with farmers. The screen season involves reviewing images and information via computer. The result of our work is an updated database of all agricultural land in Sweden. Here you can read more about the review we conduct in maintenance: Review of blocks on screen and in the field (https://jordbruksverket.se/stod/jordbruk-tradgard-och-rennaring/sam-ansokan-och-allmant-om-jordbrukarstoden/block-och-blockareal/granskning-av-block-pa-skarm-och-i-falt)

During the field season, there will be periods of travel where you are away from home for several days in a row, and you need to expect at least three weeks in another location. In return, you will have great freedom to plan your work.

QUALIFICATIONS

As a maintainer, you need to be solution-oriented and good at planning your time. The job requires you to be structured and detail-oriented, while also having the analytical ability to weigh different types of information against each other to make well-founded decisions. You enjoy working independently, for example, during days in the field and while driving between farms, as well as meeting farmers where you explain how we work and why. Collaboration with colleagues occurs when needed and is a natural part of the job.

You have a relevant university degree, such as in biology, agronomy, landscape science, or natural science, or you have work experience that we consider equivalent. You have knowledge of and can broadly assess biodiversity and natural values on pastures and meadows. It is an advantage if you have experience working with commitment plans and assessing land classes for pastures and meadows. Experience in maintenance and field inspections of agricultural land is also advantageous, especially if you have worked with maintenance in the last three years.

The nature of the work means that you need to be in good physical shape and have normal color vision, as fieldwork often takes place on uneven ground and requires careful visual assessments. A driver's license is required, as well as the ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

Warm welcome to your application!
