Committee Secretary at Jönköping Municipality

We are looking for a committee secretary for a fixed-term position within the administrative unit of the social services department.

Your new job

As a committee secretary, you will be responsible for gathering cases, preparing summons for meetings, and taking minutes during the meetings. The workgroup consists of several committee secretaries, and part of the assignment involves helping each other as needed to reduce vulnerability.

The administration surrounding the municipality's committees and boards requires great precision. The work is in some parts detailed in terms of tasks and deadlines. Legislation, delegation orders, and the municipality's own governing documents guide daily operations. The unit has clear routines for this and works extensively with process descriptions and templates to create security and ensure quality in our work. We work with plain language, and in the role of committee secretary, it is important to have an excellent ability to process minutes and other writings.

Your qualifications

A completed university degree of at least 180 credits (bachelor's degree) in fields such as political science, social science, behavioral science, public administration, or equivalent education assessed as equivalent by the employer.

We prefer that you have several years of experience working in public administration. You should understand the demands of working in a politically governed organization. For this position, it may also be an advantage if you have experience working within social services.

You are easy to collaborate with. It is natural for you to be part of a team where the work is characterized by shared responsibility in planning and distributing tasks. The work is event-driven and can be high-paced, which places demands on efficiency, quality, and accuracy even under time pressure.

To thrive as a committee secretary, you are service-oriented, have integrity, and enjoy challenges. You are an excellent communicator and have very good knowledge of the Swedish language, expressing yourself well in both speech and writing, and have a very good reading comprehension.

Welcome to us

The Social Services Department in Jönköping Municipality consists of a cohesive administration with three political committees and three political boards for exercising authority in individual cases. The administrative unit is responsible for, among other things, record-keeping, case management in the various committees, and investigation assignments. As a committee secretary with us, you will primarily work with the individual and family care committee's board, but will also be involved in the work around the municipality's two other committees. The workplace is located in central Jönköping, close to the city center, transportation connections, and good lunch spots.

Good to know

The recruitment is for a fixed-term position, full-time, with start and end dates according to agreement. If necessary decisions are made, the position may be extended.

We use ongoing selection. Interviews for the position will take place on the afternoons of February 23rd and 26th. If you apply for the position and are called for an interview, you need to be available.
