Your tasks

Are you a person with experience in elderly care and driven by providing care, support, and assistance based on individual needs? Then the position as a nursing assistant at Ekbacken's nursing home might be for you!

We are now looking for two new colleagues at Ekbacken's nursing home who want to become part of our community. The positions are 75-100% and the working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends.

With us, you will work to meet the individual needs of our customers. Together with your colleagues, you are an important piece of the puzzle in creating a meaningful everyday life for our customers. You will work to create opportunities for social interaction and participate in various social activities. The position includes various care tasks, which include, for example, assistance with transfers, personal hygiene, household chores, and medical interventions. We work based on IBIC (individual needs in focus) with the individual's best interests in mind. Our work is also characterized by a salutogenic approach, where we focus on the healthy and encourage the person's own abilities.

In this position, you will have the opportunity for development in your role and you will be assigned to be a contact person for some of our customers. This means that you participate in welcome conversations where you plan support measures together with the customer. You are responsible for the customer's implementation plan and document in the Treserva system. The role also includes maintaining close contact with relatives and other partners.

Your workplace

Ekbacken's nursing home is located close to nature in the southern districts with good connections to central Linköping. Nearby is Ekholmen's center and nice walking paths for recreation. The residence has three pavilions with a total of 56 places. Three of the apartments are so-called duplicates and are intended for couples who want to live together. Adjacent to the apartments are common areas such as a kitchen and living room with a large balcony. This position means that you will work in all three pavilions.

With us, we put extra effort into activities for our residents. We organize various offerings every week, and the residents participate based on their needs and interests. We have the privilege of having a leisure center that is open every weekday and offers a varied program with everything from walks, reading aloud, chair gymnastics, baking, movie screenings to pub and sing-along evenings once a term.

You who are applying

We are looking for someone with a recognized nursing assistant education and experience in the field. To have good conditions with us, it is desirable to have experience and knowledge of working with individuals in somatic, dementia, and palliative care. It is an advantage if you have experience with the IBIC approach, a salutogenic approach, and knowledge of low-arousal responses. We consider it a matter of course that you take delegations such as medication, insulin, and feeding tubes.

Work in elderly care involves a lot of customer contact and documentation, which means that we require you to communicate verbally and in writing in Swedish. You have the ability to use digital tools in your work and have experience documenting in journal systems.

We see that you as a person work well with others and can relate to them in a responsive and smooth manner. You listen and communicate and are flexible. Furthermore, you take responsibility for your tasks, are self-driven, and move your work forward. You are clear in your communication and ensure that messages are conveyed. It is also important that you have an empathetic ability that allows you to understand others' perspectives and situations.

This recruitment includes a language test. Upon hiring, you will need to present a criminal record from the police.
