An ILS engineer can be described as a technical superhero who works to ensure that systems and products operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Tasks

ILS (Integrated Logistics Support) is used to optimize maintenance and operation of advanced systems. Imagine you are buying a car that works well from the start and is cost-effective to maintain in the long run. Are spare parts available in ten years? Is it easy to replace a broken headlight? An ILS engineer ensures that such questions are considered – for complex systems in defense, aviation, space, maritime, and automotive industries.

As an ILS engineer, you will work with requirements management, logistics planning, and maintenance strategies within defense, industry, and infrastructure. The role includes developing specifications, conducting analyses and design work, formulating technical orders, and reviewing suppliers' work. You will also be responsible for quality control and technical support, both internally and to customers.

After graduation, you can work with everything from submarines to airplanes and contribute with analyses, technical specifications, design work, and quality control. You will have the opportunity to work closely with project managers and engineers.

Information about the Training

Accelerated Learning is the foundation of the program – an intensive and practical training model with a fast pace, short theory sessions, and a focus on feedback and practice. During the program, you will learn the ILS process and its components, including lifecycle analysis, functional safety, maintainability, maintenance safety, and support solution management.

• Pre-study period: 11/5 - 5/6
• Training period: 8/6 - 11/9
• Exam day: 11/9
• Scope: Full-time, mandatory scheduled classes weekdays from 08:00 to 16:00
• Training location: The training will be conducted digitally with mandatory attendance. The entire training will be conducted in English.
• Work location after training: Örnsköldsvik.

The Role as a Consultant

After the training, you will be employed as a technical consultant through Academic Work and work on assignments at our clients. As a technical consultant, the positions, industries, and size of our clients will vary, and it is important that you are open to this role. For this assignment, we are collaborating with BAE Systems.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU WHO

• Are over 18 years old
• Have excellent knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written, as lessons and upcoming work may occur in both languages
• Have a genuine interest in technology
• Express strong motivation for the program
• To have an aptitude for the consulting role, you do not need previous technical experience, but you must have the right abilities, personal qualities, and show great interest and commitment to start your new career. Therefore, you will undergo tests during the process that you need to pass to move on to the next step.

Integrated logistics support is a process primarily used within the defense sector and may, in some cases, result in these assignments being security classified. If the assignment you are placed on is security classified, a security clearance (including background check) will be conducted upon employment (in accordance with Chapter 3, Section 1 of the Security Protection Act). Assignments where the client has requirements for security classification may, in some cases, require Swedish citizenship.
