Maintenance Engineer
Kubikenborg Aluminium AB is Sweden's only producer of primary aluminum and one of the largest industrial companies in Sundsvall. The factory was built in 1942 and we have the capacity to produce 130,000 tons of aluminum per year. The final product, which consists of ingots, is delivered to presses and rolling mills across Europe. Kubal currently employs 460 people.
As a maintenance engineer, you will be a key person in ensuring high operational reliability and dependability in our production facilities. You will work both strategically and operationally with improvements, analyses, and planning of maintenance activities. The role involves close collaboration with production, operations technicians, mechanics, electricians, and external contractors.
Responsibilities:
· Plan, develop, and follow up on preventive, condition-based, and corrective maintenance.
· Perform root cause analyses (RCA), FMEA, 5-Why, and other improvement methods.
· Investigate recurring faults and initiate long-term technical solutions.
· Optimize and update maintenance plans and instructions.
· Participate in investment projects and technical improvement work.
· Analyze operational data, key figures, and maintenance statistics to identify areas for improvement.
· Ensure that work complies with applicable laws, standards, and safety procedures.
· Be responsible for technical documentation and participate in the procurement of equipment and services.
· Support and train operators and maintenance personnel on technical issues.
Education/Competence Requirements
· Engineering degree in mechanical, mechatronics, or equivalent experience.
· Experience in industrial maintenance, technical service, or a similar role.
· Experience in troubleshooting and technical problem-solving.
· Familiarity with maintenance or business systems.
· Good ability to interpret drawings, manuals, and technical documentation.
· Proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
Meritorious
· Knowledge of Lean, TPM, RCA, FMEA, or similar improvement methodologies.
· Experience from process industry, workshop, or similar environment.
· Certifications in maintenance.
To succeed in this role, you are
· Analytical and structured.
· Solution-oriented with good technical understanding.
· Independent but also good at building trust within the team.
The position is full-time and during daytime. Start date to be agreed upon.
