About the Trainee Program

For nine months, you will work approximately 80 percent with your employer on the tasks included in the trainee position. In your work, you will have support from an experienced mentor. During the remaining time, you will participate with other trainees in a development program. The program will provide you with knowledge about how municipalities, regions, and government agencies are organized, as well as in-depth knowledge in areas that are cornerstones of the organizations such as sustainability, economics, crisis management, and community building.

During four weeks, you will have a so-called broadening period. This means that you will be a trainee in one of the other organizations included in the program to gain broader insight. Towards the end of the program, we will assess the conditions of the operation and your interest in continued employment.

About Us

The position is located at Tillväxt Timrå, the unit for business and community development under the Municipal Executive Office in Timrå Municipality. The unit works with issues such as physical planning, land and exploitation, maps/GIS, nature conservation, and establishments. Tillväxt Timrå has been around for almost four years and is now a cohesive and interdisciplinary team located in newly renovated premises at Vivstahöjden in Timrå.

Job Responsibilities

As a trainee focusing on planning architecture and urban planning at Timrå Municipality, you will work with both strategic planning issues and concrete planning matters. You will be involved in the entire planning process from comprehensive planning to detailed plans and design work.

The role also means that you contribute to the long-term management of the municipality's land use, making you an important part of the municipality's overall community building efforts.

In Timrå, the role of a planner is outward-facing and collaborative. You drive planning processes forward through dialogue, analysis, and well-founded considerations against our common goals. We are looking for someone who is solution-oriented and enjoys working together with colleagues within the municipality as well as with external actors.

Qualifications

You have a degree in the field of community building, for example as a planning architect, urban planner, or another area that the employer deems relevant for the assignment. At the time of application, your academic degree must be no more than three years old, and you should be able to present your degree certificate.
