Are you driven by the desire to support and motivate young people? Now you have the opportunity to contribute to the safety of our youth at Thulegatan's support residence. We are looking for two substitute staff.

The young people are aged 16-20 and are placed due to issues such as mental health problems, substance abuse, criminal behavior, or difficulties in their home environment. Each young person receives individually tailored support, and the purpose of the placement is to train and prepare them for a more independent living and adult life in a safe environment. At the support residence, we work from a systems theory perspective, utilizing methods such as Motivational Interviewing (MI), Activities of Daily Living (ADL), relapse prevention (ÅP), and independent living (ESL).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a substitute, you will serve as an important adult figure for our youth. Together, we create a calm and safe environment at the support residence where the young people can develop and feel seen. You will support the youth in their daily lives, from managing their own household to ensuring they have a functioning school attendance or other activities, as well as making good life choices. The work as a support educator involves a lot of motivational work, documentation, and participation in meetings.

We are a dedicated team of seven employees and a team leader who care for each other and, above all, for the youth we serve. Collaboration and driving processes with other actors such as schools, psychiatry, employment services, and financial assistance are significant parts of the job. Your role is to plan, coordinate, and involve the youth in necessary contacts to become more independent in the long run.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has completed or is currently pursuing post-secondary education as a support educator, social educator, treatment educator, or equivalent. You have a B driver's license, and it is certainly a plus if you have experience working with youth and/or young adults. Additionally, experience working with challenging behaviors is beneficial. We consider it an advantage if you have prior experience collaborating with various actors such as financial assistance and different employment functions. We document in Viva, so it is also good if you have experience with documentation.

As a person, you need to be secure in yourself, have good self-awareness, and a strong interest in the living conditions of young people. It is important that you enjoy collaborating and feel confident in driving processes with other actors. No day is the same with us. To thrive in this position, you need to enjoy working at a fast pace and be able to adapt quickly when unforeseen events occur.

The Social Administration is responsible for creating social security for children, youth, and adults. The goal is to work towards achieving social sustainability. Within the Social Administration, qualified and well-developed social work is conducted. The administration's work includes both authority exercises and treatment and support measures for children, youth, adults, and families.
