Björkestaskolan is a primary school (grades F-6) with about 470 wonderful students and a competent and engaged staff group. We have an after-school program characterized by high quality with about 260 enrolled students divided into two different departments.

As a special educator at Björkestaskolan, you will be part of a special education team consisting of another special educator, a special teacher in mathematics, and a special teacher in Swedish. The team has a central and responsible role in the school's systematic quality work related to the quality of teaching. We are looking for someone who has the ability to drive development initiatives developed at both the national and local levels. With varying job responsibilities based on the needs of the organization, the ability to take significant personal responsibility for planning, prioritizing, and maintaining continuous dialogue with school management about what needs to be done and in what order is required. You will work together with school management to lead and develop the school's student health services to provide the right support and conditions for all our students.

This and other job responsibilities may include:

• Being guiding and consulting in the preventive and promotional work in the learning environment characterized by leadership & stimulation.
• Working operationally with investigations of special support, proposing interventions and adaptations, and following up on action programs.
• Collaborating with other competencies in the school's student health team.
• Collaborating with other special educators in the collaborative forms that exist at the municipal level.
• Monitoring developments regarding special education, regulations, and laws.
• Driving school development together with school management and the school development team, which consists of the school's lead teachers.
• Following up on the systematic quality work concerning student health and its effect on the organization.

Social competence and clarity are important qualities in the work of developing our teaching so that all students are given the opportunity to learn.

Nykvarn Municipality is a Finnish administrative area, and we consider it an advantage if you speak Finnish.

We require you to present a criminal record extract before employment.

You should have relevant education and preferably experience working with student groups aged 6-13 years.

You need to have experience mentoring educators with positive results.

It is advantageous if you have previously led the EHT.

You need to have broad social competence in various constellations and the ability to inspire colleagues.
