Job Responsibilities

To give the city's trees better conditions to survive in the hardened city, the Property and Street Office is establishing more skeleton soils. Since these are not included in the municipality's interactive map, they risk being destroyed or not restored correctly during excavation work. Therefore, a compilation of where the skeleton soils are located, what materials they consist of, and associated wells and installations is needed.

We are looking for a student employee who can review drawing documentation for construction projects and compile information about the skeleton soils in GIS or CAD programs. The work is conducted independently but with support from colleagues in the Urban Environment Unit.

The results will be delivered in GIS or CAD and then entered into the municipality's interactive map by GIS engineers. The assignment provides you as a student employee insight into the Property and Street Office's operations and a deeper knowledge of skeleton soils – while contributing to the protection of the city's trees.

As a student employee in Malmö city, you will have the opportunity to practice your academic knowledge alongside your studies with assignments within our operations. We offer you relevant and qualified work experience, valuable contacts, and a salary. Working hours can amount to approximately 10-15 hours per week.

Qualifications

The student employee program is aimed at those who have completed at least 60 higher education credits and are still studying throughout the assignment period.

You are studying to become a landscape architect or landscape engineer. It is an advantage if you have experience with green-blue-gray solutions and skeleton soils, for example through courses such as “Green-Blue Infrastructure”, “Soil Construction – Materials and Design”, personal projects, or similar. You should have experience with CAD and GIS software. As a person, you are systematic and meticulous with an interest in technical solutions.
