Job Description

The Food business area at AFRY is characterized by long industry experience and high competence in project management, process design, facility construction, automation, and quality assurance. As one of AFRY's strategically selected segments, Food is an area we are particularly investing in globally.
Our business idea is to both manage and further develop our project business as well as our comprehensive commitments. We are in a strong growth phase and continue to expand, both nationally and internationally.
About the Role
As an automation engineer with us in Malmö, you will work closely with experienced colleagues on assignments directed towards the food industry. Together, we help our clients develop, streamline, and optimize their operations.
We work in project form, where each assignment is based on the client's specific needs and conditions – which makes each project unique. Therefore, we prefer that you are flexible, adaptable, and enjoy new challenges.
Examples of tasks:
- PLC programming
- System design and technical solutions
- Quotation work
- Electrical design
- Project management
- Commissioning
- Service and maintenance
The workgroup consists of 14 people with different roles, where approximately half primarily work with PLC programming and half with electrical design. Most have extensive experience in the industry, and we have a strong culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing. There is much expertise to draw from – and great opportunities for you to develop, from junior to a highly skilled automation engineer.
Qualifications
Who are you?
We are looking for someone who has:
- Relevant education in automation and/or electrical design, or
- A strong interest in the field and for example works as an operations or maintenance technician and wants to develop further in automation.
- Driver's license B
- Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams
We place great emphasis on personal qualities. You are curious, unpretentious, and social, with good collaboration skills and a clear desire to deliver high-quality work. You are flexible and open to meeting the varying needs of clients.
You are proficient in Swedish and English, both spoken and written. You enjoy working in project form, have a positive attitude towards new challenges, and are happy to share your ideas and experiences. At the same time, you are self-driven, take responsibility, and work structured even on your own.
Travel is part of the job, averaging 20–40 days per year, both within and outside Sweden.
Meritorious:
- Knowledge of Siemens Classic and/or TIA Portal
- Work experience as an operations technician with PLC
- General programming experience or a strong interest in programming
- Experience with electrical design tools such as ElProCAD, EPLAN, or equivalent
