Teaching Assistant for Adapted Primary School 1-9
We are looking for an engaged and relationship-building teaching assistant for our adapted primary school 1-9 who wants to give our students the best conditions for development. Job Responsibilities
In the role of teaching assistant, you will support a student in need of special support, so that they can develop and achieve their goals. You will work in a student group together with special teachers. The student has autism level 3, which means they have extensive support needs regarding participating in and completing school tasks as well as finding ways to interact socially with other children. This means the student needs a person who follows the special design for teaching and the social interactions that are built up. You will perform various tasks in learning situations with the student under the guidance and instructions of special teachers/teachers. You will have close collaboration with the class teacher and other staff at the school. You will support the student throughout the school day and also other students in need of support during leisure time. The work aims to help the student develop as much as possible, based on their own conditions, in accordance with the goals of education.
As a teaching assistant, you will also have close collaboration with different units at the school, such as special teachers, leisure staff, and student health teams. You will also collaborate with external parties such as habilitation and speech therapists.
About the Workplace
The primary task of the Department of Children and Education is to provide a safe and stimulating learning environment where we prepare children and young people for the future. We also work to promote access to cultural and recreational activities for all residents.
The adapted primary school is part of the Ösmo principal area and has 30 students in grades 1-9. What We Are Looking For in You
To succeed in this role, you have:
- education as a teaching assistant
- experience working in an adapted primary school
- experience collaborating with external parties such as habilitation and speech therapists
- experience cooperating with different units in a school such as student health teams, leisure staff, special teachers, working groups
- experience maintaining close contact with guardians
- knowledge of the current curriculum in adapted primary school
- very good knowledge of the Swedish language both verbally and in writing
- personal stability that allows you to handle challenging situations and maintain your calm in these.
It is an advantage if you have:
- experience working as a teaching assistant
- experience working with children with autism level three
- knowledge of low arousal approach, structured pedagogy, TAKK

You maintain calm in situations that can be challenging and understand how your own behavior affects students in need of special support. You create engagement, joy at work, and participation. You understand that your role is to develop and make the student as independent as possible in line with the student's development and learning. You contribute to creating good relationships and are responsible. Since we work for close collaboration within and between teams at the school, we place great importance on your ability to cooperate. You need to have a positive attitude and personal commitment. You should be proactive, structured, and have good leadership skills. You should have a special commitment and understanding for children in need of special support.
