You will have close collaboration both within and outside the education office. Cooperation and collaboration are key to success. You are expected to take significant personal responsibility, but we work closely together and assist each other with many of the current cases. Our office is conveniently located near the commuter train, making it easy to reach from various parts of the area.
About us
The education office is the largest office in Upplands Väsby municipality and is responsible for all forms of operations. In addition to all schools under municipal management, there are departments for Central Child and Student Health, Support and Development, and Finance and Administration. You will belong to the Central Child and Student Health department, which consists of about 25 employees with various competencies.
About the position
The assignment includes processing cases related to preschool, primary and secondary schools, as well as adapted school forms.
You will have close collaboration and an advisory role both within the office, other operations, and with citizens. You will work closely with another administrator in the department. The main tasks include receiving cases in adapted school forms, processing applications for additional funding, and handling deferred school obligations. The assignment includes developing work processes, conducting investigations, preparing decision-making documents, responding to incoming inquiries, conducting follow-ups, handling appeals, writing statements, and preparing documents for referrals.
Are you the one we are looking for?
We are looking for someone who has:
- A university degree in a relevant field, such as teaching, special education, or equivalent
- Good knowledge of the school's mission and governing documents
- High knowledge of legislation regarding special support and extraordinary support
- Good knowledge of adapted school forms
- Good knowledge of the school's work with students in need of special support and various disabilities
- Very good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing
It is an advantage if you have experience in:
- Special educational work in several school forms within primary and secondary education
- Overall administrative work, authority exercise, or equivalent.
- Special educational degree
The assignment is very independent, and the role requires precision and accountability. The role requires good communication skills in both speech and writing, the ability to analyze large amounts of written material, and to weigh complex information together. To thrive in the job, an interest in administrative processing and school legal issues is essential.
The assignment involves many points of contact, and collaboration occurs both internally and externally. Therefore, it is important that you are a responsive and communicative person who appreciates and has the ability to collaborate with others.
As a person, you are structured by working according to a clear process, organizing and planning your work well, completing what you start, and meeting deadlines. Furthermore, you are analytical and solve problems without losing sight of long-term strategies, seeing logic and connections in complex information or environments.
You also need to be stable, which means you handle stress constructively and maintain a good mood under pressure and setbacks. We also believe that you need to be collaborative to fit into the role, adapting and finding win-win solutions through a selfless focus on the common goal.
