To Svartsö School (Värmdö Archipelago Schools Principal Area)

we are looking for a primary school teacher with broad qualifications.

Svartsö School is one of four schools that are part of the Värmdö Archipelago Schools Principal Area. In addition to Svartsö School, Djurö School, located on the mainland, as well as the schools on Möja (on hold for 2025/2026) and Runmarö are included. You will work at Svartsö School, which is a K-9 school, but grades 6-9 are on hold this school year. Currently, there are 15 students at the school, distributed across grades from preschool to grade 5.

Svartsö is a small K-9 school close to nature and water. Age-integrated groups with students from different islands create community and safety. Collaboration across age boundaries develops students' various abilities and creates good conditions for the future. We have a close collaboration with the other island school where we have joint outdoor days, excursions, and study visits.

Job Description

In the role of primary school teacher at Svartsö School, you will be responsible for planning, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of teaching. You are the sole teacher but have the support of two teaching assistants who work at the school, and together you will work with the group. As you teach all students, you need to be able to teach in a mixed-age setting. You have access to the EHT and a special educator who comes to the school once every two weeks. As a teacher at Svartsö School, the focus is on goal fulfillment and safety for all students.

We are looking for someone with broad qualifications and experience teaching in lower and middle school. You have a conscious pedagogical approach where student participation and responsibility are a given. It is important that you are confident in your professional role and that you are clear with students, guardians, and colleagues. We place great emphasis on social skills and personal suitability.

As a person, it is important that you are self-driven and flexible as you are solely responsible for the well-being and goal fulfillment of all students.

For this position, presenting a valid extract from the police criminal record is a prerequisite for employment.
