Do you have experience as an engineer or in another technical role, as well as knowledge of ship, safety, and lifesaving equipment? Are you analytical and possess a good ability to collaborate with various competencies? Do you want to work on qualified projects aimed at contributing to making Sweden and the world safer? Then you might be the one we are looking for.
Responsibilities
As an engineer in ship, safety (fire), and lifesaving equipment (SSL), you will participate in projects for the Navy's ships and boats. Ship equipment can include everything from fenders to interiors, safety equipment includes the loose fire-fighting equipment on board, and lifesaving equipment consists of items such as life rafts, personal protective equipment, and distress signals.
Your responsibilities include developing technical specifications, ensuring compliance with regulations, and conducting delivery inspections and verifications with our suppliers. You will also support projects that develop new ships and boats by suggesting SSL equipment based on regulations and requirements from the Armed Forces.
The work is carried out in close collaboration with other colleagues in the project group, the Armed Forces, and subcontractors to solve project tasks and deliver results to the Armed Forces.
The position is located in Karlskrona. Business trips occur both domestically and internationally.
We are looking for someone who
Has an academic education and experience as an engineer or in another relevant technical role, or equivalent competence assessed in another way. Furthermore, you need to have good knowledge of relevant regulations and legal texts, including in Swedish and English, both spoken and written. Since business trips occur, the position requires a B driver's license.
Experience in maritime rescue or working with fire on board ships or aircraft is advantageous. Desired but not required is experience with ship and boat systems for professional use within the defense sector.
As a person, you are self-driven, take responsibility for your tasks, and plan and structure your work to drive processes forward effectively. You have a natural ability to collaborate and relate to others in a responsive and smooth manner, contributing to good solutions and a positive work environment. With your analytical strength, you handle complex issues by breaking down problems and finding sustainable solutions. At the same time, you are flexible and see opportunities in changes, allowing you to quickly adapt to new circumstances and maintain focus on results. We place great importance on personal qualities.
