About Us

The Medical Technology Department at Blekinge Hospital (MTA) consists of 20 employees responsible for the region's medical technology equipment and operations.

We also represent the region in national medical technology issues, investigations, and as a referral body. Blekinge Hospital operates in Karlskrona and Karlshamn, with MTA staff placed at both locations. However, work may also occur in other locations where, for example, health centers are located in Blekinge.

The Job

You and your colleagues will largely organize the work independently. You will work closely with the operations in clinical work, and the work will be performed both on-site at the clinics and in MTA's own facilities. The position, based in Karlskrona, includes tasks that have a broad focus on the medical technology equipment and systems used within the hospital. Work with equipment found in primary care is also included.

As a medical technology engineer, you will work with delivery control, preventive and corrective maintenance, safety and functionality checks. You will have close contact with the users of the medical technology equipment, as much of the work takes place where the equipment is located, i.e., out in the operations.

Some administrative work, such as drafting specifications for procurement and risk analysis, will also occur.

You will also train staff in the functions of the medical technology devices. We have an inventory and incident system, Medusa. MTA is certified according to SS-EN ISO 13485:2016.

About You

We are looking for someone who is an educated engineer in the fields of medical technology, electronics, machinery, IT, or has other education and qualifications deemed equivalent.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Experience in medical technology.
• Good IT knowledge with a focus on technology.
• Experience in technical service work.

You will work with patient-related equipment with high safety requirements. Therefore, we require that you be meticulous, responsible, and have practical skills, and can work both independently and in a team. You are open and relationship-building and are motivated by working closely with the operations. To succeed in the role, it is important that you are proactive in your working method and driven by the desire to make a difference!

You should have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written. A driver's license (B) is required as we work throughout the county.

Great importance is placed on personal suitability.
