Do you want to help strengthen young people's future choices and motivation? In Mora municipality, we are looking for a study and career counselor who works specifically with students in grades F-6, 7-9, and adapted primary school.

This is a meaningful assignment where you contribute to students' development, choices, and belief in the future.

A collaborative SYV team

In Mora, there is currently one SYV employed with whom you will work closely. Together, you will develop the SYV work and create common structures, forms, and activities for all municipal primary schools.

Additionally, there is a project-employed coordinator working within an ESF project focused on labor market connections and future skills. The coordinator supports the work with PRAO, labor market contacts, and practical elements.

Your assignment

As a SYV in Mora municipality, you will work both operationally and strategically. The assignment covers F–9 and adapted primary school, but the main focus is on grades 7–9 within the primary school and adapted primary school, as guidance for high school, PRAO, and labor market orientation are central parts of the transition to the next school step.

Your work includes, among other things:

• guiding students in language choices, high school choices, and further studies
• coordinating and developing PRAO and labor market contacts
• strengthening choice competence, motivation, and future orientation
• working closely with teachers, student health, and the business community
• contributing to equity and structure in the entire SYV chain
• providing extra support to students who need guidance during transitions

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with appropriate education for study and career guidance, such as a degree from a study and career counseling program, or other relevant pedagogical or behavioral science education that the employer deems equivalent.

You have an interest in both guidance and school development and thrive in an assignment where you can contribute to students' future choices, motivation, and transitions.

As a person, you are professional, attentive, secure, and communicative. You enjoy building relationships, collaborating, and contributing to young people's belief in the future, and you see the value in both long-term and everyday work.
