About the client

The client is a positive person with a sense of humor, great patience, and clear boundaries. He lives with ALS and actively works to see the good in people and create a meaningful everyday life. Communication occurs via reading tools and other communication aids.

Animals are very important to our client. He does not have any pets, but there may still be animals in the home at certain times, and he enjoys visiting environments where there are animals. He also has a great interest in cars, appreciates walks, music, concerts, and opera. The client values his personal time and appreciates respectful and attentive interaction.

Job responsibilities

As a personal assistant, you will help with:

• Personal care and transfers

• Support with communication

• Breathing aids such as suction machine, cough assist, ventilator, and nebulizer

• Support in daily activities and leisure interests

• Walks and activities together

The client uses a standing walker and a power wheelchair.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience in personal assistance or similar care work (requirement)

• Is attentive, secure, and can focus on the client's needs

• Speaks and writes fluent Swedish (requirement)

• Has the ability to work calmly and professionally around an infection-sensitive person

The most important thing is that you have the right attitude and approach.

Scope of the position

Working hours may vary day/evening/night based on needs.

A prerequisite for starting employment with us at SAAND Assistans is that you can present valid ID and any documents that support your right to work in Sweden. To work as a personal assistant, you must be at least 18 years old.

According to legislation, we as employers are required to request a background check from all employees who will work as personal assistants for a child under 18 years old. To ensure the safety of our clients at SAAND Assistans, we obtain extracts from the criminal record of all those we employ. Therefore, you will need to present an extract from the police's criminal record before a potential employment.
