Project Coordinator for Erikshjälpen in Vetlanda
Erikshjälpen is a children's rights organization with a non-profit second-hand operation. We work on around 100 projects in 17 countries and operate about 50 stores under Erikshjälpen Second Hand in Sweden, Norway, and online. We work towards the vision of "A changed world where children's dreams come true".
Our mission is to combat poverty and vulnerability by realizing children's rights worldwide.
Erikshjälpen currently operates in several locations across Sweden under the name Erikshjälpen Framtidsverkstad, where we aim to create conditions for personal development and social mobilization together with children, youth, and parents. The work is carried out in close collaboration with participants, municipal services, businesses, and other civil society organizations. Do you want to make a difference for others in your work and be part of a team that works for a changed world where children's dreams come true? Erikshjälpen operates in various locations across Sweden and is now exploring the possibility of launching a new initiative in Vetlanda. We are looking for a team member to conduct a feasibility study for a potential startup of a new operation in collaboration with Save the Children, Vetlanda Municipality, and Witalabostäder.
Description
In the autumn of 2025, Erikshjälpen, in dialogue with Save the Children and Vetlanda Municipality, has decided to jointly explore the possibility of starting a new operation in the area aimed at children, youth, and families, with a particular focus on the Stenåkra area. Save the Children currently has a local association operating in the area, and Erikshjälpen has an established second-hand operation. This initiative involves a deepened social commitment.
The first step is to conduct a feasibility study together with Save the Children, Witalabostäder, and Vetlanda Municipality during the spring until the end of June to map out the needs and the solutions that are requested. The mapping will form the basis for an application for an IOP, which we believe and hope will become a joint and long-term initiative in the area.
As a project coordinator, you will lead the feasibility study together with a representative from Save the Children, forming the local working group. In your role, you will meet children, youth, parents, and other actors from civil society and the municipality to gain an understanding of the needs and what operations may be conducted in Vetlanda.
Examples of tasks
- Engage in dialogue and build relationships with the target group of children, youth, and parents in the area.
- Map out what the target group sees as needed and requested in their living area and based on that, propose activities and meeting places.
- Conduct pilot activities that can be evaluated together with the target group.
- Propose how continued collaboration between the actors should be structured and which other actors may be relevant to collaborate with in the initiative.
- Formulate proposals for an Idea-Based Public Partnership between Erikshjälpen, Save the Children, Vetlanda Municipality, and Witalabostäder.
- Create contacts and build relationships with important networks and partners.
- Compile a report with collected data and provide recommendations for continued operations in the area.
Who are we looking for?
You have:
- A degree in relevant post-secondary education, such as health, pedagogy, social work, or human rights. Or relevant work experience that the employer considers equivalent.
- Experience working to build relationships with children and youth.
- Experience working in collaboration with public authorities and the non-profit sector.
- Strong social and communication skills.
It is advantageous if you:
- Are multilingual.
- Have experience in the non-profit sector.
- Have experience in social work with people in vulnerable life situations.
- Have knowledge of Erikshjälpen and our work in Sweden.
- Have experience in children's rights issues and rights-based work.
We offer you
As an employee at Erikshjälpen, you will work in an organization where you, together with an engaged team and colleagues worldwide, work to promote children's rights in Sweden and globally. With us, you have the opportunity to make a difference – for a future where children's dreams come true.
We care about our employees having a good balance between work and leisure and offer our employees a wellness allowance of 2000 SEK per year. As an employee, you are covered by the collective agreement for civil society employees between FREMIA and Unionen and the Academic Unions.
We welcome applicants with diverse experiences and backgrounds and value diversity in all forms.
As part of the recruitment process, a presentation of an extract from the criminal record will be required before the position is offered to the final candidate.
