We offer students a learning environment that provides them with opportunities for participation, learning, and development. We offer meaningful, stimulating, and important pedagogical work in our schools.
Hällsboskolan in Umeå welcomes students with severe speech impairments. Our teaching focuses on language and communication. We provide education for students from preschool class up to grade 10. The goal is for students to have the conditions to reach knowledge goals, be involved and active in various social contexts, and develop as individuals. We offer accommodations for students who cannot commute to school every day.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a substitute teacher, you may work in various areas at Hällsboskolan from preschool class to grade 10. There may be a need for substitutes as teaching assistants, teachers, leisure staff, or residential staff.
You will be available when there is a need at short notice. Being available in this way means that a new employment relationship is established each time you are called upon for work. Offers of such temporary employment are usually made verbally. You have the right to decline assignments offered to you.
- You document when relevant in the activities you have been responsible for during the day and provide feedback to the regular teacher.
- You participate in creating a safe learning environment.
- You adapt and shape your work in accordance with the materials provided by the regular staff.
- You collaborate with colleagues when there is a need for support.
- You have close cooperation with colleagues and actively participate in the school's contacts with the community.
- You contribute to the development of the school.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with experience as a teaching assistant and resource function in educational activities. You express yourself well in speech and writing.
It is advantageous if you have:
- Pedagogical education, e.g., teacher, leisure educator, child and youth program.
- Experience working with children with speech impairments.
- Experience working with children in need of special support.
- Experience working with children with neuropsychiatric disabilities.
- Experience working as a teacher.
- Experience working as a leisure educator.
- Experience working as a teaching assistant.
- Experience with AAC.
- Experience using IT and media in the activities.
Personal qualities:
You can choose alternative, adapted, and complementary pedagogical strategies based on children's needs and conditions at both group and individual levels. You are flexible in your working methods, solution-oriented, and have experience collaborating in teams around child groups. Your approach to students is characterized by a low-arousal response. You contribute to creating a safe and trusting environment based on mutual respect and good relationships, both individually and together with others. You have personal maturity, integrity, and are proactive. You possess good communication and collaboration skills.
