Laboratory Medicine within Region Jämtland Härjedalen is an advanced diagnostic organization with a lot of expert competence. The organization is undergoing a transformation and expansion, and we are now looking for new colleagues who want to be part of our exciting development journey where we conduct advanced medical diagnostics as well as research and development.

Laboratory Medicine is an accredited activity with a large and varied diagnostic panorama. Many different professional groups and professions work and collaborate here; nurses, biomedical analysts, doctors, specialists, chemists, microbiologists, nursing assistants, laboratory assistants, IT specialists, and medical secretaries. We provide patients and referrers with a high degree of service.

Clinical Microbiology encompasses both culture-based and molecular diagnostics. The unit also has its own substrate production. Here, there are great opportunities for development as well as for active participation in the rapidly growing development of the organization.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for new employees for Clinical Microbiology, primarily placed in bacteriology. The work is mainly scheduled for weekdays during the day, but weekend work may occur depending on previous experience or after training. If needed in the operation, evening work may also become relevant in the future.

You will be involved in the entire workflow from pre-analysis with registration and culturing of samples, through reading and analysis, to reporting the results. The current position includes various tasks within the central laboratory of Clinical Microbiology, primarily within culture-mediated and to some extent molecular diagnostics of bacteria, viruses, and parasites. There are good opportunities for personal development as well as active participation in the development of the organization.

Simple troubleshooting occurs, as well as contacts with orderers and other parts of the care chain. Your work is an important part of ensuring that patients receive the correct diagnosis and treatment. You take responsibility and drive your tasks to completion independently, but you can also adapt and reprioritize when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is:

  • A licensed biomedical analyst, or has other education and/or experience that the employer assesses as equivalent.

Requirements:

  • Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

Desirable:

  • Experience from a clinical microbiological laboratory and/or experience in parasitological diagnostics (microscopy) and endotoxin analysis of dialysis water is particularly meritorious.
  • Experience from accredited operations and quality work, especially in the role of quality manager or with specific assignments within quality. You are quality-conscious, meticulous, and structured. You have good collaboration skills, but can also work independently and adapt to changing conditions. We are undergoing a reorganization and a comprehensive scaling up of our value-based work. Therefore, we are looking for someone who wants to contribute to a good work environment, feels professional pride, and wants to be part of the vital mission of Laboratory Medicine. You have the ability to make quick decisions, both independently and in collaboration with others, and you have good initiative.
