Who will you be working with?

A wonderful 7-year-old boy is looking for more assistants to join his lovely team as soon as possible. He lives in a house in a newly built residential area in Alingsås with his family, consisting of parents and two younger siblings.

The boy has a neurological condition that requires personal assistance around the clock. He thrives on closeness and enjoys hearing sounds around him. He is calm as a person and enjoys being in the bustle of loved ones. He likes to listen to stories when his assistants read to him, as well as the sounds of audiobooks and music. The boy enjoys company, and his younger siblings love to play and have fun in his room - where he often spends time with his assistant.

The boy needs someone to help him with all aspects of daily life, and you will thus be his support through everything. He has no verbal language, limited vision, and uses a wheelchair to explore the world.

As a personal assistant, you become a significant part of his and the family's daily life. You will be a secure point and advocate for his best interests in all situations. The boy has double assistance around the clock.

Job Scope

We are looking for assistants who want to work 40-75% awake night shifts, as well as someone who can work daytime approximately every other weekend, with fill-in shifts on weekdays for day and evening shifts.

We are also looking for people who can work during the summer.

Who are you applying?

It is important that you are a responsible and secure person. We want you to be engaged, positive, and creative. You should have a calm and present demeanor, be empathetic, and able to act quickly in emergencies. In this job, you should be attentive and independent to take your own initiatives. You should be comfortable being part of a family with children - where your role as a personal assistant is significant in enabling the boy to participate in everyday life with his family.

It is desirable that you have experience working with children in some capacity. It is welcomed - but not a requirement - that you have experience with epilepsy, handling feeding tubes, and/or managing medical technical aids such as suction machines.

To thrive in this job, you should: - Enjoy working independently as well as in a team - Be able to act quickly regarding medication, breathing, or similar situations - Be comfortable working with respiratory monitoring and with cough machines, suction machines, and other medical technical aids.

Getting to work: About a 10-minute bike ride from central Alingsås. Limited public transport options. A driver's license and car are a plus.
