Welcome to become a part of our growing municipality - and to work with us to provide our residents with even better service.

We offer an attractive workplace that gives you great opportunities to develop in your professional role. Our goal is for everyone to thrive and grow - throughout their entire working life. We also want to develop as an employer and actively work to make the best use of your knowledge and engagement. We appreciate and encourage co-creation from everyone.

Uddevalla municipality is a beautiful place by the sea in the heart of Bohuslän. We believe in an open and positive interaction between the municipality, education, business, and culture.

We hope you will enjoy being with us!

About the workplace

Norgårdenskolan is Uddevalla municipality's largest 7-9 school with just over 500 students in the academic year 25/26.

We have a very high collective experience in school leadership, and the principals form a strategic leadership team with two special educators. We have started the academic year 25/26 strengthened by the graduating students' merit value of 233 points and 90.4% eligibility, but we are also humble in taking on new challenges for remaining and incoming students. We work according to Vision and Direction 2028 and have four strategic areas. With the support of the entire staff group and a newly recruited deputy principal, we are now continuing to define and sharpen the work organization to enhance conditions for development.

The school has a combined and cross-professional competence. We have two employees in the roles of special educator, social educator, and career counselor, as well as, of course, a school nurse and school counselor. We have, as confirmed in evaluations, good collaboration between the student health team and work teams.

The school organizes a special education group (SU Blue) for students in need of individually adapted learning environments and flexible planning.

In the school area, an adapted primary school is also organized, which has its own principal and school management. We collaborate regarding the school's overall and accessible learning environment and in operational matters but do not have a common school management due to separate responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Special educational support to teachers, aimed at good leadership and stimulation, as well as adequate extra adjustments in the physical learning environment of the classroom.
  • Special educational support to teachers and guardians, aimed at professionalism and good collaboration during educational investigations when a student does not meet knowledge criteria.
  • Special educational support to the principal, aimed at good handover structures and professionalism in dialogue and collaboration with guardians, networks, and other community functions.
  • Special educational support to the principal, aimed at process development of structures, routines, and organization.

You are also part of the school's overall special educational competence and participate in some central collaborative dialogues annually.

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone who is self-driven, empathetic, and sees the importance of collaboration. You are structured and view differences as something positive. You are goal- and result-oriented and have specialist knowledge through acquired education and proven experience. To succeed in the role, it is important that you are relationship-oriented and fundamentally have a good sense of humor. If you are also charismatic and have good rhetorical skills, you will likely succeed!

Qualifications

Requirements for employment:

  • Educated special educator
  • Teaching qualification and teaching license for secondary school

Desirable qualifications for selection:

  • Previous work in leadership positions in primary school
  • Knowledge of relevant operational systems

Other

If you are called for an interview, you will conduct a work test consisting of two parts:

  • Part one where you give a presentation and develop your thoughts on special education and the organization of special support, as well as the leadership you consider successful in this.
  • Part two where you talk about a really good result you have been responsible for or involved in – why it turned out that way and what the success factors were in this process.

Welcome with your application!
