JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is part of the Probation's control and preparedness organization, tasked with managing controls for clients under electronic monitoring and attendance checks for clients sentenced to community service. This means that in this role, you will participate in client visits at the probation office and visit clients in their homes, where you will maintain a professional demeanor. You will independently be responsible for carrying out various forms of controls and documenting your work. Your tasks will also include other security-related tasks such as urine testing and monitoring. There is a strong focus on security-enhancing tasks, and you will staff the access control for secure entry to our office. You will work alongside probation inspectors and other correctional officers, and it is important that you thrive in a flexible and dynamic environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

The role places high demands on personal suitability. As a correctional officer in probation, you need to be secure, stable, have good judgment, and integrity. Together with your colleagues, you will drive the operations, so you need to have good teamwork skills and be clear in your communication. You should be able to act physically when required.

It is important that you share the fundamental values of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service regarding a humane view of humanity, respect for the individual, and the belief that people can develop. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. Furthermore, you are expected to contribute to ensuring that everyone is treated equally with your approach. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who has:

• A completed upper secondary education or other education combined with work experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant.
• Work experience, including seasonal work, part-time employment, or self-employment. Internships and volunteer work are not equivalent to employment.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.
• Good computer skills.
• A driving license for a manual transmission vehicle.

It is advantageous if you have:

• Current work experience in correctional services, security work, social care, psychiatry, or health and care work.
• Relevant language skills.
• Experience in security control/access.
