Building Inspector for the Building and Geodata Unit

The Community Building Administration offers creative discussions, a fast-paced environment, solution-focused working methods, and gives you the opportunity to drive and participate in changing community building processes. We are a collaborative administration between Hällefors, Lindesberg, Ljusnarsberg, and Nora municipalities with a broad mandate within the municipalities' community building processes.

The administration consists of two main areas of operation: technical operations, and building and environment.

The Building and Geodata Unit is part of the Building and Environment area and works with building permits, supervision according to the Planning and Building Act, and housing adaptation. The unit consists of 17 employees. You will join a workgroup that has both innovative thinking and extensive experience, great commitment, and high ambitions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a building inspector with us, you will be an important part of the unit, where you will work with applications and notifications according to the Planning and Building Act (PBL). Your role includes investigating cases, engaging in dialogue with relevant parties, and making decisions. You will write service documents and present cases to the Building and Environmental Committee. We offer an independent role where you take responsibility for your tasks while having close collaboration with engaged colleagues who are happy to share knowledge and support each other.

Your work involves many contacts with community residents, colleagues from other administrations, and external authorities. The role also includes handling and presenting supervision cases.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a few years of experience in building permit and supervision processing and who is well-versed in the Planning and Building Act (PBL). You have either a building permit processing education, legal education in the field, another higher education in community building, or equivalent competence that is deemed equivalent by the employer. You have previously worked with supervision issues and possess relevant competence in the area.

To thrive and succeed in the role, you are used to working independently to drive and take responsibility for your own cases, while also having good administrative skills and can structure your work effectively. You are attentive, collaborative, and enjoy working in a team where you contribute your expertise and a solution-focused approach. Your communication skills are strong, and you express yourself clearly and pedagogically, both verbally and in writing. We particularly value your ability to see the whole picture, consider different perspectives, and make well-founded decisions.

A B driver's license is a requirement for the position. We are looking for someone who, with a flexible and engaged approach, wants to contribute to the development of the organization and improved processes.
