Occupational and Environmental Medicine (AMM) is a highly specialized and research-based organization with an overarching mission to prevent and reduce work-related and environmental ill health among the residents of Region Sörmland, Region Värmland, Region Västmanland, and Region Örebro. AMM consists of three units with a total of about 40 employees who have broad expertise in many different professions. We work outwardly and address primary care, occupational health services, municipalities, authorities, organizations, universities and colleges, companies, and private individuals.

Occupational Health Engineer/Measurement Technician to Occupational and Environmental Medicine
Job ResponsibilitiesIn your position, you will work in the Instrument Pool with rental, service, and calibration of instruments, and support to customers. The Instrument Pool rents out instruments nationwide for measuring various workplace exposures. The tasks may also include independent exposure measurements of air pollutants, collection and processing of existing measurement data, environmental hygiene consultations, assisting with sampling strategies, information and educational activities, as well as contacts with occupational health services, clients, and other stakeholders. The work may involve travel within the country and measurements in industrial environments. You will work in a team with occupational hygienists, occupational health engineers, and measurement technicians.
The laboratory at Occupational and Environmental Medicine is accredited by SWEDAC, and in our daily work, we use the quality management system as support. We have a large customer base spread across the country, and the work involves a lot of customer contact. There are 16 people working in the laboratory, of which 2.5 work in the Instrument Pool.

QualificationsWe are looking for someone with an academic degree in the field of chemistry/biology/technology. Occupational health engineer training is an advantage. A technical interest in handling measuring instruments with associated software programs and sampling equipment is a good quality. You should have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and have good knowledge of English. A driver's license (B) is a requirement as business travel in Region Sörmland, Region Värmland, Region Västmanland, and Region Örebro may occur.
As a person, you are independent in your work approach and take the initiative to solve the problems that arise in your work. You are flexible and responsive to both the customer's and the organization's needs. The work also requires that you are structured and quality-conscious. Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities.
About the Position:
The working hours are mainly daytime, Monday to Friday, but travel in the job and inconvenient working hours may occur. Your placement will be at Occupational and Environmental Medicine at the University Hospital in Örebro. Your immediate supervisor will be the unit manager for the clinic's laboratory unit.
