Job Description

Do you want to further develop your skills in calculations using the latest in CFD simulations in both 3D and 1D alongside several of Sweden's leading industrial companies? We are particularly growing in the area of advanced chemical process simulations where you will play a natural role in delivering deep knowledge to process engineers in troubleshooting, scaling up, and commissioning. In addition, we are a market-leading supplier to the automotive and energy industries. As a CFD engineer at AFRY, you will work with advanced technical calculations, focusing on flow analysis. Projects may vary in both size and content and can be carried out either in-house at our facilities or on-site with our clients. Therefore, travel is a natural part of the job, which may include weekly travel for extended periods. It is advantageous if you have worked in any of the following industries: - Process, Mineral and metallurgy, Pharmaceuticals/Medical technology.

Qualifications

You should have at least a Master's degree in chemical engineering or a similar field with three years of industrial experience in CFD simulations. Your education should focus on in-depth modeling of chemical processes. This includes fluid mechanics, chemical reaction engineering, separation technology, and more. It is a plus if your previous work and/or education includes in-depth CFD simulation work. An important part of the job involves setting up necessary impulse, energy, and mass balances to verify results from CFD simulations with simple calculations. You should have good knowledge of both Swedish and English, both spoken and written. As a person, you are meticulous, ambitious, knowledgeable, and customer-oriented. You appreciate teamwork and understand the added value of working selflessly and together to develop the best solution for our clients. You have an eye for detail and the ability to explain complex technical terms to those around you. You enjoy meeting people and have the ability to adapt to new environments. You are self-driven, proactive, used to taking your own initiatives, and are good at communicating and documenting.
