Job Responsibilities
Do you want to contribute to the city's long-term and knowledge-based work against violence in close relationships and honor-related violence and oppression? We are now looking for a development leader with a particular focus on honor-related violence and oppression for the community development unit.
You will be part of a team working on issues related to violence in close relationships, safety and crime prevention, public health, social experiences in community planning, EU and international issues, as well as promoting and preventing work related to alcohol, drugs, doping, tobacco, and gambling addiction.
This is a strategic role with a clear focus on implementation and coordination. You are responsible for ensuring that development work does not remain at the level of plans and policy documents, but leads to concrete action in the operations. You have overall responsibility for ensuring that the work against violence in close relationships and honor-related violence and oppression is interconnected across different operations, levels, and actors, and that initiatives are driven forward in a structured and long-term manner. The position entails overall responsibility for the issue within the city area of Centrum, while working closely with other operations and actors both within the city and externally. Together with the development leader for violence in close relationships, you will work closely with the operations on joint development, training, and collaboration initiatives.
Your job responsibilities include:
- Coordinating work against violence in close relationships and honor-related violence and oppression, both internally within the administration and externally with other actors.
- Leading and driving development work from analysis and planning to implementation, follow-up, and quality development.
- Supporting the operations in translating strategies, action plans, guidelines, and national goals into practical and effective working methods.
- Planning, implementing, and following up on development initiatives that lead to lasting change.
- Conducting preventive and promotional lectures as well as capacity-building initiatives for professionals within the City of Gothenburg, city area of Centrum, and other collaborative actors.
- Acting as a knowledge support to managers and employees, as well as monitoring the external environment and translating research, national guidelines, and new knowledge into practical work.
- Initiating, driving, and developing collaboration with other administrations, authorities, and civil society.
- Producing service statements, reports, and decision-making materials, as well as contributing to analysis and follow-up.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a relevant university or college education, for example in social work, behavioral science, political science, or another area that the employer assesses as equivalent. You have good and documented knowledge of violence in close relationships and particularly of honor-related violence and oppression, as well as an understanding of how these issues need to be handled both strategically and practically in a public organization. We consider it an advantage if you have knowledge and experience of working with violence in young people's relationships.
You have experience in development, coordination, or change work and are used to leading processes and projects from analysis and planning to implementation and follow-up. You work knowledge-based and can translate research, national guidelines, and policy documents into practical working methods.
You express yourself well in both speech and writing and have experience in producing reports, decision-making materials, and other materials that support governance and organizational development. You also have a good ability to collaborate and keep together work where multiple operations and actors are involved.
As a person, you are driven and independent. You take initiative, start activities, and achieve results whether you work alone or together with others. You have a strong commitment and enthusiasm for your work. You take responsibility for your tasks and drive the work forward.
You are also goal- and results-oriented. You are motivated by clearly defined goals and have the ability to translate these into concrete actions. With a focus on the goal, you can reprioritize work when conditions or needs change. You follow up and report results and goal fulfillment.
You are also collaborative. You work well with others by listening, showing interest, and respect. You understand the common mission and work to make it as good as possible.
