Social Worker for the Promotion and Prevention Unit in Borlänge Municipality

The Social Services (IFO) in Borlänge Municipality has long been working to create and expand promotional and preventive measures in line with the new Social Services Act. Within IFO, the Reception and Prevention Unit is primarily focused on promotional and preventive measures. The unit consists of a common reception, family counseling, field group, social emergency service, and a promotion and prevention unit located at the Family Center Sopranen.

Currently, six social workers work within the promotion and prevention unit with various measures at the individual, group, and community levels, where we offer parenting support and interventions through the Family Center Sopranen and Youth Health. The work involves reaching out to our citizens with early interventions, easily accessible support, strengthening relationships and protective factors, and preventing negative developments in the long term, a varied job that we develop together with great joy. One of the social workers has a coordinating function, and there are also two assistant unit managers and one unit manager within the unit.

Within IFO, there is also a child and family unit, a unit for social interventions for children and youth, and a unit for social interventions for adults.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Promotion and Prevention Unit is now expanding its mission by offering more parents in Borlänge group-based parenting support through COPE and ICDP guiding interaction. Therefore, we need to strengthen our unit with an additional social worker who will primarily be tasked with starting, driving, and developing the universal group-based parenting support in Borlänge Municipality together with other colleagues. The initial task will involve planning and building a functioning concept with regular course starts in COPE, recruiting course participants, advertising, and information work in collaboration with schools, regions, and other activities within the municipality. In this role, you will lead groups together with a colleague during daytime, afternoon, and evening hours depending on the needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or another higher education that the employer assesses as equivalent. You should have experience in social work. Since the role involves leading group-based parenting support, you should be comfortable speaking in front of both small and large groups.

For the position, very good Swedish language skills in both speech and writing are required, as well as good knowledge of English.

As a person, you are flexible and eager to develop, and you have no problem independently driving your work forward while being good at collaborating, networking, and being the face of the organization. You are solution-focused and not afraid to think outside the box and continuously develop both yourself and the organization you work within.

We would like you to have experience in providing group parenting support, individual and/or family conversations, or other therapeutic work focused on children, youth, and families. If you have training in COPE, ICDP, or other group-based parenting support, it is advantageous. We also prefer that you work from a relational and systemic perspective and have experience in driving collaborative processes and outreach work.

We prefer that you have a driver's license as the position requires traveling to various locations in the municipality.
