About the Job

As an enforcement officer, you primarily work to decide on appropriate measures to regulate debts. To prevent people from falling into severe debt, contact with customers, employers, and other authorities becomes an important part of your work. Your role is to be the neutral party that helps the one who has not been paid and the one who is to pay.

You investigate assets, make decisions on appropriate enforcement measures of varying scope and complexity. This means you analyze and assess different types of documentation. You request additional information via phone, email, and mail in contact with various parties. With the support of laws and regulations, you assess the documentation and make decisions. The cases you handle require legal security, speed, and efficiency while maintaining quality.

You will undergo internal training for six months where practice is combined with theory, and you will also have a mentor who supports you initially. The training includes, among other things, law, customer interaction, and communication techniques. You will be part of a section that collectively is responsible for results, planning, and workload distribution.

Everyone working at the Enforcement Authority contributes to the fight against crime. Your tasks include identifying and preventing attempts at criminal activity and notifying other authorities of suspected crimes. As an enforcement officer, you may, for example, alert other authorities that a person is receiving benefits on incorrect grounds. This can result in you contributing to stopping incorrect payments from the welfare system.

Your Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • 1 year of work experience in administrative or case-handling work in the last three years
  • Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish.

It is desirable that you have current experience working as an enforcement officer at the Enforcement Authority. It is also desirable if you have relevant work experience in case handling, investigation, and decision-making that affects individuals and businesses.

Good to Know

The employment is permanent and begins with a six-month probationary period. You will be employed as an enforcement officer. The Enforcement Authority offers the possibility of remote work by agreement with the employer.

Working in the government means that you follow the government values. There are also special requirements for judgment, security awareness, and compliance with applicable laws. We ask questions during the interview about any previous criminal activity and shortcomings in previous employment. For final candidates, these questions are also asked of references. We also collect information about debts registered with the Enforcement Authority, bankruptcy, and business bans. Information obtained will be considered in the overall assessment of your suitability for the position.

Employment with us may involve placement in a security class. A security review with a background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted before a decision on employment. For some of our tasks in a security class, Swedish citizenship is required.
