Energy Strategist for Halland's Green Transition

Job Responsibilities

The position as a strategist with a focus on energy involves driving and developing energy-related issues in a regional development context. The work aims to promote efficient and purposeful use of and access to energy and reduce the climate impact of energy use.

As a strategist, you will:

• Coordinate and develop collaborations in the energy sector together with government authorities, municipalities in Halland, energy companies, businesses, and other actors.
• Be a driving force in the collaboration platform EnergiNav, which aims to contribute to green transition, strengthened business development, and a robust energy system in Halland.
• Strengthen the dialogue between actors influencing the development of the Halland energy system.
• Place energy issues in a community planning perspective, including within Region Halland's work with regional physical planning.
• Participate in regional cooperation with other regions.
• Handle other tasks within the energy sector, such as consultation management.

About the Workplace

We at the Community Planning Department in Region Halland are responsible for long-term strategic planning and are to contribute to regional development in several areas. The work takes place in a development-oriented environment with great opportunities for learning. The regional development work is carried out in close collaboration with colleagues from other parts of the organization as well as Halland's municipalities, adjacent regions, authorities, and more. We develop Halland by providing decision-making support to politicians, inviting collaboration, contributing knowledge for the benefit of other actors in the community building area, and much more.

The position belongs to the Community Planning area, which is part of Regional Development at the Regional Office. Other professions in the operation include process leaders and strategists managing assignments in physical planning, infrastructure, public transport, climate and environmental work, and broadband.

In the role of Energy Strategist, you will be part of the department. You will also be part of a smaller group within the department, the Energy Office Halland, which focuses on energy. The operation consists of a mix of competencies which contributes to the developing working method.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• A university or college degree in community planning, energy, climate, and/or environment, or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
• Very good knowledge of energy issues at local, regional, and national levels.
• Good stylistic ability in writing and the ability to deliver oral presentations.
• Good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.
• Knowledge and experience in development work within energy issues or other community building areas, where this has been your main area of work.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Experience in leading and driving larger development processes in collaboration with others.
• Previously worked in a politically governed organization or with similar assignments.

We also appreciate if you have the ability and experience to analyze and interpret complex data and information. As a person, you are self-driven, take responsibility for your tasks, and have the ability to drive and structure your assignments. You are flexible and can adapt to changing situations. You are stable, think strategically with a broad and long-term perspective, and make necessary trade-offs and priorities. Additionally, you have good collaboration skills and communicate clearly.
