Combat disinformation and develop the future of media and information literacy (MIK) work in Halland? We are looking for a key person to take on a strategic and creative role at the intersection of culture, education, and digital development.

Digitalization is rapidly changing society. Misinformation and disinformation are identified as one of the greatest global risks. At the same time, information, communication, and data are crucial for societal development and our daily lives. Several of the administration's activities, including libraries and educational services, play a central role in strengthening residents' ability to navigate the information flow and participate in democratic dialogue.

This is a new role with us – and you will have the opportunity to help shape it from the ground up. You need to thrive in a role that combines analysis, creativity, and relationship-building. The position will be placed in the administration's communication department.

About the assignment

As a specialist in MIK and AI, you will be a central resource for the entire administration: cultural activities, folk high schools, and our upper secondary school. You will work both strategically and operationally to strengthen the ability of residents and professionals to understand, evaluate, and use information in a rapidly changing media landscape.

You will:

• develop, coordinate, and implement educational initiatives within MIK, media, and information literacy
• support activities in combating disinformation, strengthening source trust, and safeguarding democratic dialogue
• follow developments in MIK, digitalization, and generative AI – and translate them into practical work
• contribute to strengthening libraries as democratic arenas
• work with environmental analysis, trends, and future issues related to MIK and AI
• collaborate with actors regionally, nationally, and within civil society

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with an academic background in social sciences, media studies, or journalism.

We seek someone with a proven ability to educate, guide, and inspire others to strengthen competence in the MIK area.

You have good knowledge of source criticism, source trust, and risks associated with misinformation and disinformation.

You understand digital tools and platforms for information searching, analysis, and communication. You also have a good ability to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities within MIK and generative AI.

The position requires strong communicative skills to express yourself pedagogically in speech and writing. Furthermore, strong dialogue competence and experience in facilitating meetings and workshops are required.
