The Health Center in Smedjebacken is a pleasant and friendly healthcare facility. We have approximately 7,100 registered residents. The staffing consists of many different professional categories with broad expertise, and collaboration and utilization of each other's different skills are an important part of daily work.

We conduct medical consultations, healthcare advice, nursing and district nursing consultations. We have specialist nurses with their own clinics, child health services, diabetes, blood pressure, asthma/COPD, memory clinics, occupational therapists, and midwifery services. We also have physiotherapists with their own clinics as well as counseling and addiction services, and care coordinators for mental health. Our hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 17:00.

We are looking for a healthcare assistant (permanent position) for the health center in Smedjebacken.

The daily work includes, among other things, sampling in our lab, assisting in medical/nursing consultations, ordering and managing supplies. An important part of the job is collaboration with other units within both the region and the municipality.

Requirements:

• Trained healthcare assistant who has completed the Health and Care program or the vocational package Health and Care in adult education
• Diploma from the Health and Care College

It is advantageous if you have:

• Specialization in Emergency Care and Medicine 2 (if you have completed the previous Health and Care program)
• Experience from working in primary care
• Experience with Cosmic

As a person, you are meticulous and responsible. You have good initiative and planning skills. You are stress-resistant. We place great importance on your personal suitability and ability to collaborate, where a good approach to patients and colleagues is included.

Information about the job title

As of July 1, 2023, the title of healthcare assistant is a protected job title (https://legitimation.socialstyrelsen.se/underskoterska-blir-en-skyddad-yrkestitel/). This means that you need proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title healthcare assistant within health and care.

You can apply for the proof from July 1, 2023. If you do not have proof, you can continue to work in health and care, but with a different title than healthcare assistant. For those offered a job with us in Region Dalarna after July 1, this means that the title in your employment contract will be Care Assistant until you can present your proof. If you had a permanent position with the title healthcare assistant when the new regulations came into effect on July 1, 2023, you can continue to use the title for 10 years. You can retain the title even if you change workplaces/employers after July 1. After that, you will need proof of a protected job title to use the title healthcare assistant.
