We are now looking for someone who wants to be part of Järfälla Gymnasium's continued journey forward. We are looking for a secure, positive, and engaged special education teacher who is passionate about creating the best conditions for our students.
Järfälla Gymnasium has over a thousand students distributed across two campuses in Barkarby and Jakobsberg. Here, there are both college preparatory programs, vocational programs, introductory programs, and adapted upper secondary school.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a special education teacher, you will be a central part of the school's pedagogical development and our joint efforts to create the best conditions for each student. You are passionate about learning and see it as a given to follow up, challenge, and develop teaching so that all students have the opportunity to grow and reach their full potential.
With your competence in clear learning environments and adaptations in the classroom, you support mentors, teachers, and students in their daily work. You are close to the operations, participate in teaching, and build trusting relationships that make a real difference. In student-centered work, you work in a coaching and guiding manner.
You are part of the school's student health team, where you work closely together and contribute your special education expertise. Your responsibilities include establishing action programs, mapping and investigating students' needs, working with attendance, and guiding and mentoring staff in the pedagogical work.
Your role also includes being a support for the principal in systematic quality work. You contribute with analyses, follow-ups, and a long-term student health perspective that helps us develop the operations in a sustainable way.
You meet both students and guardians with clarity, responsiveness, and good communication. You do this in close collaboration with student health, the school's support functions, mentors, and teachers - together we create a safe and developing school environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who:
- has a teaching license and is an educated special education teacher
- works in a structured and secure manner, with the ability to see both the big picture and capture important details
- has good digital competence and uses it as a natural support in your work
- has solid knowledge of learning and school development, based on research and proven experience
- is well-versed in the school's governing documents and sees the value of long-term, systematic quality work where student health is an obvious part
- has a coaching and responsive approach, while being flexible and solution-focused
It is a plus if you also:
- have experience and knowledge in the NPF area
- have worked goal- and result-oriented in previous assignments
- have broad and in-depth experience of pedagogical work within upper secondary school
- have experience leading and driving development work in a school environment
