International English School (IES) is a leading independent school group with academic results far above average and a diverse and energetic staff. Teaching is in both Swedish and English, and the hallways are bilingual. The language of meetings and communication amongst the staff is English.

International English School Enskede is a school for grades 4-9 with 900 students and 70 staff members. It is a school where teachers can focus on teaching, students are given the opportunity to learn, and everyone enjoys coming to school every day. All teachers have the enriching experience of being a class mentor. The school has an international orientation and teaching is conducted in both English and Swedish. The school works to ensure that learning and knowledge are prioritized. Students learn to take personal responsibility for their own development and working environment and to respect their classmates, teachers, and themselves. IES takes pride in its staff and has developed a method to create a calm and safe school environment. This allows our teachers more time to share their knowledge, both with students and colleagues. Your own teaching as a teacher from Sweden is conducted in Swedish, but among colleagues, we speak English.
International English School Enskede is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic special education teacher for a full-time position. We are looking for a qualified special education teacher for grades 4-9. Mentorship for students may be included in the position.
Main responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with identified special educational needs, both in and out of the classroom.
- Develop, implement, and follow up on individual education plans (IEP) in collaboration with teachers, guardians, and relevant professionals.
- Conduct assessments and observations to identify students' needs and measure progress. Work closely with classroom teachers to plan and adapt lessons, support measures, and modifications to ensure access to the curriculum for all students.
- Lead and participate in student support meetings, including IEP meetings and team conferences.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of students' progress, assessments, and support services.
- Collaborate with external authorities and specialists to coordinate services and resources for students.
- Support the development of a positive and inclusive school environment that values diversity and equality.
- Contribute to staff development regarding inclusive teaching methods and strategies.
- Ensure that the school's policies, statutory regulations, and best practices in special education are followed.
- Holiday school - extra support for students during school holidays.
