JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

At Vasaskolan, we currently have about 540 students.

As a teaching assistant, you are part of a team with other teaching assistants, but you collaborate with both special teachers and special educators to support at both group and individual levels. Each teaching assistant has a task that is well anchored in the student's needs. Together, we work to ensure that the students' entire school day is safe, focusing on the knowledge mission. We are looking for someone with a strong interest in people and the ability to build good relationships. As a teaching assistant, you work during school hours based on each student's individual development and conditions.

You often work with individual students or groups who need extra help to succeed in their studies. This may involve assisting with reading and writing difficulties, concentration problems, or other learning challenges.

You help students develop their social skills and manage relationships with other students. This may also involve supporting students during breaks and in social situations and on schedule-breaking days.

QUALIFICATIONS

It is important to us that you are an adult role model, as well as being secure and trust-building with a professional and low-arousal approach. You have completed upper secondary education with a focus on children and leisure or care and support, or another qualification that the employer deems equivalent education or experience. We would like you to have experience working with students with diabetes.

It is an advantage if you have completed teaching assistant training. You have a strong interest in people and the ability to build good relationships. You are flexible, solution-oriented, and responsive to students' individual needs.

To begin working in preschool, school, leisure centers, and other educational activities, you must provide an extract from the criminal record register. The extract is valid for one year and can be ordered from the National Police Board www.polisen.se (http://www.polisen.se).
