The Role of a Care Assistant

The department consists of two units with a total of 16 places, divided into a psychiatric intensive care unit (PIVA) with 6 places and a psychiatric acute care unit (PAVA) with 10 places. We are a regional department with the entire county as our catchment area and are the only psychiatric intensive care unit/acute care unit in the region. We care for many patients with significant care needs and complex psychiatric illnesses.

As a care assistant with us, you will participate in all steps of the nursing process and follow the patient from admission to discharge. Furthermore, you will contribute to the implementation of care and treatment plans and coordinate patient treatment in collaboration with others in the team.

The Organization You Will Work Within

The Psychiatric Clinic in Jönköping is one of the largest clinics in the county, providing both outpatient and inpatient care within specialist psychiatry. The operation has seven outpatient clinics and six wards, as well as a psychiatric emergency department that offers acute assessments around the clock. The clinic provides psychiatric specialist care for residents over 18 years old. Parts of the clinic also serve as a regional resource responsible for psychiatric intensive care, addiction care, forensic psychiatry, and emergency services, where we handle urgent cases within both adult psychiatric clinics and child and adolescent psychiatric clinics.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who are a trained care assistant for our psychiatric intensive care unit (PIVA)/psychiatric acute care unit (PAVA). If you have a psychiatric focus in your education and previous experience in psychiatry, this is seen as a positive.

As a person, you are calm, curious, innovative, open to collaboration, and passionate about creating a good atmosphere and helping others. You have the ability to remain calm in stressful situations and can quickly adapt to changing circumstances. The ability to share and utilize your colleagues' skills is something we highly value.
