The Role of the Midwife

As a midwife in women's health care, you will be offered a stimulating and varied job, which means you will work both independently and as part of a team. You will have exciting tasks and meet women at all stages of life.

You will work with health care related to pregnancy, contraceptive counseling, gynecological cytology screenings, and support for parents with special needs. Your work will involve collaborating with patients and families within the family center and with other parts of the women's clinic. Together with colleagues, you will be involved in the development of women's health care and share your knowledge and ideas with others.

The position is permanent, full-time, with a start date to be agreed upon, and the location will be in Nässjö.

Your Future Workplace

Women's health care is part of the Women's Clinic at Högland Hospital. A large part of our operations is conducted at Högland Hospital in Eksjö, but the women's health care clinics/youth clinics are located at six family centers in Höglandet. We aim to provide the best care from the beginning to the end of life. We consider the whole person and work with both body and soul. We strive for good medical results and want to utilize our employees' competencies effectively. Our goals are to provide good and equitable care, good nursing, and a warm welcome, always with engaged patients. The clinic offers both planned and emergency women's health care within a catchment area of approximately 110,000 inhabitants.

The women's clinic includes women's health care with clinics in Aneby, Eksjö, Nässjö, Sävsjö, Tranås, and Vetlanda. Here, we collaborate with municipalities and child health care at family centers. We work to promote physical and mental health with a focus on sexuality and reproductive health. There are also youth clinics where we work on preventive health.

Your Profile

We are looking for a licensed midwife. Previous experience in outpatient care is considered an advantage. A B driver's license is required.

You understand your individual role but can also see the best interests of the entire organization and patients. Teamwork at the family center requires good collaboration skills and the ability to adapt to different situations during the workday. We meet patients from various backgrounds and circumstances, which requires sensitivity to different cultures and each individual patient's needs. Personal suitability is highly valued.
