The Role of the Nurse

The main work consists of pre- and post-operative care, as well as taking care of patients during various investigations and treatments. With us, you can expect a varied and exciting job with development opportunities within surgery. We work in teams with different professions, and together with other staff, you will work for good cooperation within the clinic. As a nurse, you will lead and distribute the work in the team. Night work requires some previous experience and a higher degree of independent work.

Surgery Department G and H is a dynamic workplace with a high pace and a good mix of new nurses and experienced staff in surgical care and nursing. We consciously work to create the best possible conditions for you as a newly graduated nurse with mentorship and training. There are good development opportunities in surgical care for both novice and experienced nurses with tailored training from the region and through the university. In Värnamo, there are two inpatient care units with different focuses on surgical specialties. There is also a surgical/endoscopy clinic, where patients are examined and treated in upper/lower gastroenterology, general surgery, abdominal and breast plastic surgery, and endocrinology. We also have a stoma clinic. The surgical clinic is a regional clinic with operations in both Jönköping, Eksjö, and Värnamo. Your Profile

We are looking for a licensed nurse who is interested in surgical nursing. You need to have at least one year of experience as a nurse to apply for a night position with us. You take responsibility for your tasks and are structured, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. As a person, you are secure and stable, with good initiative and an empathetic approach. We emphasize the ability to work independently, but also that you have good collaboration skills. For us, a professional attitude, accountability, good treatment, and patient safety are always relevant and prioritized issues.
