Job Responsibilities

One of our employees is going on parental leave, so we are looking for a temporary 1st social worker to join our dedicated, competent, and experienced teams.

The social psychiatry center consists of two unit managers, five 1st social workers, and 33 social workers. We are located together with other units within the functional support authority in pleasant premises on Första Långgatan. The unit handles cases for adults with mental disabilities who are in need of support.

As a 1st social worker, you will lead social workers in their daily work at the unit to enable them to fulfill their mission. You are responsible for ensuring that social workers work in accordance with the political mandate and the regulations that govern our work. You are responsible for ensuring that case handling is carried out according to the social services process, working to ensure the quality of case management and ensuring that the assistance granted is cost-effective and legally secure. You are part of the unit's management team, which means you work on behalf of the unit manager and are expected to contribute to the organization's goals and development.

An important part of the job is to adapt your leadership and methodological support according to the needs of the social workers. You are active in promoting professional collaboration both internally and externally. The role also involves representing the department in various contexts in the city and representing the board in administrative and appellate courts. Functional Support Center is characterized by a strong positive engagement for those we serve, a high level of knowledge, and shared responsibility for a good working environment.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or other education deemed equivalent by the employer. You have experience working with adults with mental disabilities and broad experience in public authority operations within LSS and SoL. Experience in a leadership role and experience in other areas of public authority operations are considered advantageous.

You are calm and secure in pressured situations. You can balance the demands placed on you and can make well-founded decisions despite time pressure. You use your time effectively and work systematically, organized, and methodically. You ensure that the work is completed and follow up on the results.
