Are you an engineer with an interest in advanced technology and want to work with some of the world's most exciting aircraft engines? At GKN Aerospace, you will have the opportunity to combine analysis and problem-solving with practical development work – while contributing to Sweden's defense capability.
About the company
GKN Aerospace Sweden is part of GKN Aerospace, which manufactures engine components, aircraft structures, cabin windows, wiring, and much more for many of the world's aircraft. The companies in the Aerospace division that work with parts for aircraft engines together form Engines, and at our facility in Trollhättan, we develop and manufacture advanced parts for engines for aircraft and rockets. We also work with engine maintenance.
At GKN Aerospace, you will be part of a global company where technology, innovation, and collaboration are central driving forces. You will work in a future-oriented industry with good development opportunities, both professionally and personally. We offer competitive conditions, secure employment, and a work environment where your contributions make a real difference.
In our Engine Modules department, we are responsible for technical product support of several central engine modules, such as fan, compressor, combustion chamber, low and high-pressure turbine, and afterburner. We currently have 21 employees with deep knowledge and experience in aircraft engine technology. We work closely with both development and production and play a leading role in driving improvements in the engine regarding lifespan, cost, and functionality. With us, you will have a unique opportunity to learn more about aircraft engines and help shape the future of flight systems.
Your responsibilities
In this role, you will work with both certified engines and next-generation aircraft engines. You will plan, drive, and conduct technical investigations, analyzing the causes of damage and their impact on the engine system. The work also involves producing and updating technical documentation, such as drawings and manuals, as well as defining qualification requirements for components before production start, changes, or repair development.
Examples of tasks include:
Leading investigations on aircraft engines from start to finish at the module level.
Conducting root cause analyses on damages related to the aircraft engine.
Working closely with both development and production to improve the lifespan, functionality, and cost-effectiveness of our engines.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a bachelor's degree, preferably a master's degree in a relevant technical field, and a couple of years of relevant work experience. You have a good technical understanding and can express yourself fluently in Swedish and English. Experience with engines or previous work in product development and product support within the aviation industry or another safety-critical environment is an advantage.
As a person, you are analytical, curious, and interested in the function of aircraft engines. You enjoy taking responsibility for your assignments, like to work independently but also appreciate teamwork. Your communication skills make it easy for you to collaborate with both colleagues and external functions.
The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where GKN's customer has requirements for security classification, this may entail requirements for specific citizenship.
Application procedure In this recruitment, GKN Aerospace collaborates with Skill. The position is a consulting assignment where you will initially be employed by Skill with opportunities for transition to GKN.
Selection is ongoing, and the position may be filled before the application deadline. Therefore, apply today! Due to the Christmas and New Year holidays, the selection process will begin after the holidays.
