Novaskolan is a resource school seeking an experienced and solution-focused teacher who is passionate about working with students in need of special support.

The resource school is a small unit (approximately 6 students) with an adapted learning environment, high staff density, and flexible work close to students, guardians, and other stakeholders. The operation is aimed at students in grades F-6 with documented extraordinary needs for special support, where admission is based on voluntary applications from guardians combined with an assessment of the current school's ongoing and possible interventions for the student's best interest.

Novaskolan is also an acute school operation, which accepts students from other schools at very short notice for a maximum of four weeks. Placement in an acute school is decided by the student's principal as a disciplinary measure to ensure a safe and secure school situation for all students. Students in an acute school need to experience a stable environment with trustworthy adults who create relationships and trust.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The operations of the resource school and acute school are characterized by a salutogenic holistic approach to each student, where clear structure, student participation, and a focus on what works are central to the students' development based on their conditions. The focus of the assignment at the school is to strengthen and support students both in teaching and outside the classroom. The activities at the resource school are based on the national curriculum, and as a teacher, you will work together with the social pedagogue and other teachers to provide teaching, develop the learning environment, and offer social support at both individual and group levels to create good conditions for learning and relationship building. The work includes planning, implementing, and evaluating the pedagogical work together with colleagues and the principal. The work at the resource school also involves close collaboration with guardians and other stakeholders. The assignment may include supervision and teaching after the student's school hours, depending on the students' specific needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

We need a certified teacher with authorization to teach in grades 1-6.

We are looking for someone with a strong interest and experience in working with children and adolescents in need of special support. Knowledge of and experience with neuropsychiatric disabilities is a requirement. You are familiar with applicable laws, governing documents, and current special education research and have experience with pedagogical documentation such as pedagogical investigations, action plans, etc.
