JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Our colleague is going on parental leave, and we are now looking for a preschool teacher to join us at Åryd Preschool. The preschool is part of a unit with an outdoor profile together with Brände Udde Preschool, Kometen Preschool, and Äventyret Preschool.
Åryd Preschool is beautifully located about 1.5 mil east of Växjö and has four departments, with two departments for children aged 1-3 years and two departments for children aged 3-5 years. The preschool has an outdoor profile, and together with the curriculum, we work with the Green Thread - which is our operational idea that rests on the fact that NATURE is our learning environment, where children during their time in preschool can experience various aspects of outdoor life. Play is at the center of teaching, and we educators are always present as co-discoverers, co-researchers, co-experiencers, and co-participants. Åryd Preschool is facing a new construction in the future.
With successful strategies based on proven experience where the best interests of the children are central and through clear goals from the curriculum (Lpfö18), we create a meaningful and enjoyable education to provide children with the best conditions to develop into independent and responsible individuals. We work based on the vision that preschool should be fun, safe, and educational for all children. In a preschool that is fun, safe, and educational for the child, PLAY from different perspectives is important to us: The educators' role and attitude towards PLAY, the importance of language for PLAY, learning environments that promote PLAY with opportunities for interaction and social engagement, and that all children have the right to an adventure (risky play). TOGETHER we explore PLAY in collegial learning together with literature reading and practice.
As a preschool teacher, it is important to see the competent child and have confidence in the child's abilities. This is essential for understanding children's working theories and how their learning is influenced by our interaction with them. Therefore, it is crucial that you can listen to the child's needs and curiosity so that we can meet them appropriately and provide them with meaningful challenges. As an educator, you are expected to participate in the activities and discoveries the children make, whether it is in the yard or in the forest. You do this by being a PRESENT educator. This means that you are both physically and mentally present with the children to listen and respond to them in the best way.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who are a licensed preschool teacher. Even if you are studying to become a preschool teacher, you may be considered. You should also be well acquainted with Lpfö-18, chapter 2:7, the preschool teacher's responsibilities in teaching.
We also want you to possess the following abilities:
- Be a clear leader, drive and lead the systematic quality work, and develop the educational work together with the team.
- Be able to see and meet each child based on their individual circumstances, ensuring that care, development, and learning form a whole.
- Flexible - It is important that you can be adaptable to the children's discoveries and needs to adjust teaching to what is currently interesting.
- Good collaborative skills - In our team, we want you to have the ability to reflect on learning processes where you take your own initiatives to develop yourself as an individual, your team, and particularly the education we provide.
- Be able to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish, conduct teaching based on research and proven experience so that each child's development and learning is promoted, collaborate with the home through regular dialogue with the children's guardians, and conduct development talks and parent meetings.
- Good organizational skills - design the educational environments outdoors as well as indoors so that they inspire development and learning and challenge and stimulate children's interests and curiosity.
- Solution-focused - sort, prioritize, and work in a low-arousal manner. We in the team help each other and collaborate as the role models we are for the children.
- Willing to be outdoors - We conduct our teaching mostly outdoors and see NATURE as a learning environment for education. Therefore, we want you to have a genuine interest in outdoor education, want and see opportunities to teach outdoors, and have either experience in outdoor education or personal experiences of outdoor life that you can share with the children.
