Job Description

The Växjö Municipality's Education Committee has decided to establish an emergency school for junior high school, with the plan to start it up during the spring term of 2025. At the emergency school, a student should be able to temporarily receive education outside their regular school to provide extra support to the student and ensure safety and a conducive learning environment for other students.

Are you a dedicated and experienced teacher who wants to make a difference for students in need of extra support and security? Växjö Municipality is now seeking 1-2 teachers to help start the emergency school. The premises will be centrally located, but you as staff will be part of Fagrabäckskolan.

Our goal is to create a safe and structured environment for students who temporarily need intensive support outside the regular school. At the Emergency School, we help students regain motivation, study habits, and social balance through individual plans and close collaboration with students, guardians, student health services, and other stakeholders.

In addition to your team at the Emergency School, you will continuously collaborate with both subject teams and student health services at Fagrabäckskolan to develop your operations.

The position includes teaching in collaboration with the student's home school and the team at the emergency school. The assignment also involves close cooperation with guardians and, when necessary, other stakeholders. Together with the team at the emergency school, you will develop the operations and contribute to the qualitative development of teaching within the subject team.

The position is intended to be a permanent position, not a temporary one.

Qualifications

We are looking for a qualified teacher with teaching certification and authorization for grades 7-9, preferably in combination with multiple subjects.

You are flexible, dedicated, and have a keen interest in developing and educating young people based on their circumstances. You have an interest in knowledge and digitalization methods to enhance your teaching. You are confident in your leadership and are a good role model with demonstrated experience.

As a person, you are good at collaborating but also take your own initiatives and make your own decisions in your work situation. It is considered a merit if you have experience in teaching special education.

In addition, you are well-versed in the mission of primary schools and their governing documents and have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing. You also have basic IT skills.

Personal suitability is of great importance.
