The role is both independent and varied, encompassing everything from receiving and treating acute emergency patients to planned outpatient care, laser treatments, and surgical activities. The clinic consists of eye outpatient clinics in Västervik, Vimmerby, and Oskarshamn, as well as a day ward and surgical department.

Your Future Workplace

The Eye Clinic in Västervik offers specialized eye care to residents of northern Kalmar County. The clinic consists of eye outpatient clinics in Västervik, Vimmerby, and Oskarshamn, as well as a day ward and surgical department. We have about 50 employees with various competencies: doctors, ophthalmic nurses, registered nurses, optometrists, orthoptists, nursing assistants, and medical secretaries. The largest volumes for the clinic are diagnostics and treatment of cataracts and glaucoma, treatment of macular degeneration, diabetic changes, diseases of the macula, and eye diseases in children. We also have an inpatient care unit at the hospital. In our surgical department, we perform cataract surgery, glaucoma surgery, plastic surgery, and Anti-VEGF treatments.
